'We', are YOU and I, and this Web Site is for us.
We have always been a little disappointed in Senator Ron Wyden's take on immigration. When the opportunity would arise from time to time we would remind Senator Wyden of the Deport Gordon Smith Web Site and simply ask him to stop playing to special interests and listen to what the voters wanted.
Gordon Smith didn't listen and now he is the FORMER Junior Senator from the Great State of Oregon.
I attended a 'Town Hall' meeting that Ron Wyden held in Newberg on January 3rd 2008. After firing several questions at the Senior Senator, I was convinced he doesn't know enough about Immigration, Illegal or otherwise to make any intelligent decisions or contributions. He didn't know what an I-9 form was. WOW! He didn't know about the Basic Pilot Project (later to become E-Verify). I had to tell his aide about it and where to find it. I made him go to a link on the Deport Gordon Smith Web Site to find it.
As I left the meeting, I was questioned by reporters and citizens about E-Verify and where to find out more about it. It's too bad the Senator couldn't answer those questions for his constituents. It was clear that his interests were far more important that those of the voters.
After attending that meeting and checking his voting record as it pertains to Illegal Immigration (CLICK HERE), I wanted to build this Site as a reminder to Senator Ron Wyden that we are paying attention and we vote - Just ask Gordon Smith!
If our law makers aren't paying attention, how can we expect enforcement of our existing laws, let alone new legislation to help curb Illegal Immigration?
Our hope is that this Web Site will get Mr. Wyden's attention as the Deport Gordon Smith Web Site eventually got the attention of Mr. Smith and his Washington staff. Unfortunately for the former Senator Smith, he did too little too late to save his political career.
Hey Ron, Can you hear me now?
